Does every team need to fundraise? Our team happens to only be 10 miles or so from the East Coast Nationals. We are planning on staying in one of the hotels to make the event more special for our team, but it is not really necessary...Are we being judged on participating in fundraising?

Here are some fundraising suggestions made by past coaches:
• Wash cars
• Contact a local restaurant and ask for a certain amount of the profits be donated to the team for a day, hour, etc.
• Contact local governments and ask for donations
• Sell coupon books in your neighborhood
• Design team t-shirts and sell them to students in your school
• Hold an auction or yard sale
• Have a raffle or drawing for door prizes

Hello,
No, not every team needs to fundraise. You will not be judged on fundraising. The judges are looking for creativity and team work. If you did fundraise you could use this as an example of overcoming a hardship and the teamwork that you used to solve it. However, if it is not necessary then you don't have to mention it at all.
Have a great day.
