Workshops for Students

Want to learn how to extract DNA from a strawberry? Take a computer apart? Search for life on other planets?

At the festival you'll attend two workshops with a group of girls like you who are interested in digging into science.

The workshops are given by amazing veterinarians, rocket scientists, astronomers, microbiologists, seismologists, and more.

The list of workshops will be available online
approximately three weeks before the festival date.

We assign workshops on a first come, first served basis, so register early!

If you register online (when workshops are available) we will send you an email with a passcode and a URL. You can then go to that URL, enter the passcode, and select your workshops.

If you register by phone, fax, or mail, when workshops are available you can email us your choices (uccs2008@sallyridescience.com)
or call us with your choices (1-800-561-5161).

Past festivals have included workshops on:

  • Animal Friends (by a veterinarian)
  • Colorful Chemistry (by a chemist)
  • Star Stuff

And many more!
